Photos, Photos Everywhere…..

I am trying to catch up on my Japan posts, really I am. I even added the promised further description of Jailhouse Restaurant on Bob’s birthday post. But do you know what is bogging me down? The pictures! Between 4 digital cameras, we have hundreds of photos, many with duplicates of events. I have spent hours trying to input key words, combine and split events, create new smart albums, resize for posting, printing for UDad’s brag book, etc. I think one of my problems is that I don’t see any one job through to its finish. I may start associating photos with key words, get frustrated or bored, and jump to something else. Any photo organizing tips any of you have would be appreciated.
Looking back to the birthday post, I see I promised you details of our hike and Sushi experience. Hmm. I’ll just go review the pictures of those events to refresh my memory………
1 ½ hours later : Yep, I ended up rearranging ‘Events’ folders, laughing at a couple of Linc videos and deleting some duds. Now, at 1:00 AM, its too late to post tonight. But there’s always tomorrow. On the bright side, earlier today, I DID find the Page a Day Procrastinator’s Calendar I had put away ‘in a safe place’ before Christmas. It was going to be a gift, but it’s looking like I should really keep it for myself.
I can’t wait to see the pictures!!
When I have a huge number of photos to go through, I use a nifty program called PhotoReviewer. You look at each picture in your folder and give a Yes or No vote and it sorts them into groups. It really helps to weed out the bad photos quickly. And you can do it a few times with ever shrinking numbers of photos until you have just the best ones. You can delete the rejects or save them, as you prefer. It costs $15 and is worth the money, I think. http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/20500
Once I have the good shots, I organise my photos in folders with a date and title: 2009-01-Aquarium or 2008-12-Sushi
Bob, I tried to do all of the things that you said but it told me about 4 different errors. I won’t give up but don’t quite know what to do differently. I did get to see ALL of the photos and loved them!!!
Aunt Debi, please try again and copy the errors it gives you into an e-mail to me. I can support you via direct e-mail.
