“Family” Ties
Wednesday, February 23rd, 2005
Murphy and I took a little road trip last weekend to see Dad, who is working and staying with his sister, Pat in Elko, Nevada. The kid started out in his pet carrier, but it was really hot in there, and after he threw up, we ditched the carrier and were allowed to stay on the front passenger seat if we stayed on our side of the car on our towl. Which we did.
It was great at Grannny Pat’s (as John dubbed his sister who owns 12 dogs, including 6 poodles, two of whom are Murphy’s parents). Liberty, the newest, tinniest poodle puppy was a great playmate. But I’m afraid that the “family” rather corrupted my innocent little Murphy, and before long, he was smoking stogies and relegating little Liberty to lying at his feet. A little eye infection gave him a rather sinister squint, and I think I heard the other poodles calling him
Good thing I’ve got him home now, away from “family” ties. We’re working on tough love and deprogramming. I’ll keep you posted.

Looks like Emmett is taking after his eldest brother. (I also throw up when stuck in a pet carrier)
That picture with a stogie belongs in a musuem. Or better yet, in one of those annoying cutesy pet callenders.
