A Wasted Day?

Sunday, February 6th, 2005

I had such good intentions today. This was the day I was going to get all my mountains of paper sorted out and prepare for my appointment with the accountant for my income taxes. I was going to enter all of the year’s worth of transactions in my Money Program and make charts and reports to show my spending in different categories. I was going to start implementing some of the strategies I had picked up in my new book “Stop Clutter From Ruining Your Life”.
My actual day? I spent the morning chatting with Johnny, doing laundry, playing with my dog and eating breakfast. The afternoon saw some paper sorting, but then I had to bathe the puppy. And he was so shivery, I had to sit down and hold him, wrapped in a blanket, and watch 2 episodes of “Ben Stein’s Money”. Time to eat again, and I had to get a little exercise, so did the 3-mile “walk” with Leslie Sanson. Hadn’t played Bookworm in a while, and I don’t want to get too rusty…...........
I’m getting pretty tired now, and Murphy is ready for bed. I’m sure I’ll be more productive tomorrow. But then again, that’s what I said yesterday.

I’ve had much the same problem lately.  I am now reading David Allen’s Getting Things Done for the third time, and trying to get back on track with following his guidelines.  They really seem to work when you can stick with them, but the weekly review is hard for me to keep with.

And you posted, so the day couldn’t really be considered a waste could it?
