Coming Soon

Soon we will respond to the completely uncalled for comments of the demonness at Cerebral Soup. I am working on things more important than attacking someone else’s blog (unskillfully I might add). Johnny or I, whichever us have time to waste, will brush aside this nuisance when it is convenient for us.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about read down to the bottom of the last post in the trackbacks section.

sigh What a shame it is when bad bloggers go worse.

taking a stroll with Maria Yumeno

Went down to the local flower shop with Maria Yumeno to see if we could find black roses, but the search was fruitless so we went on to Mr. donut, where Maria Yumeno and I had a couple of jelly doughnuts and talked about old times. It seems that Maria Yumeno’s father grew up during the aftermath of World War II, and was in Yokosuka when McArthur first came into port. Maria Yumeno and I then walked down to the beach in our thongs (flip-flops) and saw a bunch of bikinis mostly worn by 13-14 year old girls. We took a long walk down the beach talking about Asian political issues, and other hard and slippery matters to come to grips with. We went down to the beach and got our feet wet, and then it was getting late, so Maria Yumeno and I went to bed. (seperately of course, in our own beds in our own apartments)

To bad you don’t do trackbacks MJ

    New neighborhood project submission

Patrick has submitted Shin-Okubo to the neighborhood project. Check it out! Oh yeah, just some reminders:

just because Patrick has done shin-okubo doesn’t mean that someone else can’t do it it too. We want your view of your neighborhood. The second thing is that we aren’t limited only to Japan, we want your view of your neighborhood no matter where you are from. We particularly want your neighborhood view if you live on tropical island inhabited by topless native beauties (or even imported nude beauties). The last thing is that I would like to point out that you can comment on pictures in the neighborhood project, so feel free to ask questions or make comments for the artists.

Oh yeah, since I’ve been up all night I’m allowed to tell you this joke: What is invisible and smells like worms? (Don’t spoil it Kristen or MJ) I wait with baited breath for someone to produce the appropriate punchline.

Now in my CD Player: Railroading on the Great Divide/Moose Call from the album “Moscow Hold” by Utah Phillips or if you are in Japan, click here

Late late night with MJ and beer (simulblog)

Second night in a row being up past 3 a.m. working on a project for a client. I have a deadline coming up and have been having serious problems getting a layout to work. MJ from Cerebral Soup has been kind enough to agree to come one to help me with it, and so she has been up just as late (or probably later). I think tonight will be one of those where I don’t see the futon. It is kind of good because it brings nostalgia of starting up Japan aid, and of my college days which were spent in constant sleep dep. Also, the fact that I have more work than I know what to do with is a VERY good sign for the company!

Anyway, we just went on a beer run (she went to the convenience store near her place, and I to the one near mine), and we are now stocked with sustenance to get us through the night. I got one 500Ml Asahi beer, and a package of Saki Ika (dried cuttlefish, which may or not be the same thing as squid, I’m not really sure, but I do know that I am way to fond of commas). I took some pictures, but will have to add them later because my camera battery died.

I’m sorry for the boring post. I may try to liven it up when my brain is working better, but for now I just want to get this stupid page working right in Internet Explorer for Windows. I’m going to crack my beer now, and MJ and I will toast for good luck on getting this done, and we will then simulblog upon the command Ziegfried. That’s right, we will send our posts in at exactly the same moment or as close as we can. I take it all back about the boring post, it’s all excitement and glamour now isn’t it. Glad you stayed and read to the end now aren’t you? Yeah, you’d better be!

Now in my CD Player: Mony Mony from the album “Jock Rock, Vol. 1” by Various Artists or if you are in Japan, click here and buy will ya? You shouldn’t be getting quality material like this for free. Ok, you can go buy another item, because admittedly this album isn’t for everyone, but just buy alright? Thanks!

    Oriko Leaderboard:

    (oriko means good kid)

    Johnny 95.5
Its this big guy's turn for the spotlight. Just finished chatting with him on Skype and was struck, as always, by his insight and humor. Get well, Baby. Don't let that cold get the best of you. Take some Zicam.
    UltraGirl 95.4
This girl has been lately leaving insightful comments on my posts, a move likely to ensure her a good ranking on the Oriko Leaderboard. Thanks, UltraGirl. I too am glad my camera returned from the Center of the Earth. And do give those cranberries another try.
    UltraBob 95.3
k Has been a little busy, but hopefully that's good news for Akatombo Media. We keep missing each other on Skype, but we'll figure it out one of these days. Thanks for the comments. Someday I may finish writing about the trip!
    Jim 95.2
Am a little disappointed cause I thought I was going to get to see this guy next weekend at Aunt Debi's wedding. Now he's not coming after all, which is probably a wise choice and all, but still drops him a bit in the Leaderboard ratings til I get over it. Give me another day or two. And he DID make me and UltraDad a super-awesome Anniversary Card with a fun guessing game. We're still waiting to hear....who won?
    Heather 95.1
Hasn't been leaving comments, and refuses to share her taco dip recipe, but she did send UltraDad and me an absolutely gorgeous Anniversary card and cash for a dinner out, which we have already made use of. Thanks, Honey.
    Polly 88.0
I'm going to leave this kitty up here ahead of the dogs for now. They are still barking at her at every juncture, and as far as I can see, the only thing she does to instigate it is to exist.
    Murphy the Wonderdog 87.9
Doesn't bark at Polly as much as his little demon-brother, but does bark at said brother way too much. Murphy, you are the (relatively speaking) "Big Dog". If you want the chewbone Rowdy has, don't bark at him; take it away from him!
    Rowdy 75.0
Still too much barking, and a little too much pooping and peeing in the house. Is starting to learn a few tricks, but is not as clever as Murphy in that way.
